PI Tau SigMa - About

Pi Tau Sigma is the international honor society for mechanical engineers. It recognizes individuals for not just academic excellence and sound engineering ability, but also service, leadership and integrity. Pi Tau Sigma prides itself on its core values of integrity, service, and leadership. Pi Tau Sigma is a member of the association of college honor societies, and there are currently 182 collegiate chapters at universities in the United States, Puerto Rico, Mexico, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates. Michigan Tech is home to the Sigma Iota chapter of the honor society

Membership

Members must be mechanical engineering majors in the top quarter of the junior class, or top third of the senior class. Graduate students can join if their undergraduate degree is from a school without a Pi Tau Sigma Chapter, and with a recommendation from two Pi Tau Sigma faculty member.

For initiated members to maintain active status they must meet eh chapters service requirements, and have satisfactory attendance at chapter meetings.
